CBT @ Pacific Shores Recovery in Newport Beach
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.
At Pacific Shores Recovery, CBT group therapy offers individuals a supportive environment to explore these issues collectively.
THE GROUP DYNAMIC
The group setting creates a sense of community and accountability, which can be incredibly beneficial for individuals on their recovery journey.
During each session, a licensed therapist facilitates discussions that help participants identify their thoughts and feelings related to addiction, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges.
STINKING THINKING
Using CBT techniques, the therapist guides the group in recognizing how negative thinking contributes to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors.
This process encourages individuals to challenge their thoughts and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Early in Recovery, we have to be proactive about our goals, oftentimes we feel overwhelmed by positive goals. CBT helps us frame these goals and make them happen!
CORE GROUPS
Imagine treatment as the subtle art of helping our clients build their self-esteem, (because they are sober and that's a huge accomplishment!) all the while having an honest look at the negative consequences of their drug and/or alcohol use so that they do not repeat these patterns. Our evidence based treatment with structured Therapy oriented grouping is unique to Pacific Shores Recovery as Pacific shores has the lowest ratio of client to Therapist in processing Therapy-specific group topics; we call them CORE Groups.
