The mission of Pacific Shores Recovery is to provide safe and sober transitional housing and sober living for persons that have experienced alcohol and/or drug addiction related problems.

Gender-Specific Addiction Treatment in Orange County

Helping men and women thrive in recovery, our Southern California treatment center offers gender-specific programs that create a safe space for self-discovery and healing. Each person has a different recovery story, and his or her experience with substance misuse is highly personal. At Pacific Shores Recovery, we believe men and women should have the opportunity to share their story and process emotions in an environment with same-sex colleagues.

Benefits of Gender-Specific Programming & Housing

Pacific Shores Recovery is a gender-specific facility. Clients are divided into men- and women-only housing and sober living spaces, with opportunities to participate in co-ed educational workshops. Studies show that men and women view addiction through different lenses, and gender-specific environments allow for authentic expression and transparent discussion. Deep healing begins in our Newport Beach process groups, and these gender-specific spaces allow for shared accountability while reducing the chance of interpersonal friction or gender issues. Women-only group therapy is especially important for women recovering from trauma or sexual assault, since they may not feel comfortable sharing their experiences with the opposite gender.

Orange County Customized Treatment Plans

To complement our gender-specific recovery approach, Pacific Shores tailors its recovery initiatives to the unique needs of individuals. The following specialty programs may be part of this personalized treatment approach:

Family Treatment

Addiction is an insidious family disease that brings discord and relational pain. Our Newport Beach treatment facility offers licensed, certified support for loved ones of chemically dependent men and women. Join us for family weekends and family programs that provide parents, siblings and children with the tools needed to restore relationships and cope with the recovery process.

Dual-Diagnosis Treatment

Many chemically dependent men and women also struggle with behavioral health problems like anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, bipolar disorder, emotional dysregulation or sex and intimacy issues. The credentialed Pacific Shores staff tailors gender-specific treatment to an individual’s needs, treating substance misuse alongside the behavioral disorder for optimal outcomes. Each of our Orange County clients receives a personalized treatment plan with access to our accredited team of physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists and addiction counselors. When needed, we also partner with a network of specialty physicians to provide seamless management of prescription medications and co-occurring diagnoses.

Comprehensive Discharge Plan

When you leave our facility, you receive a detailed aftercare plan that includes information about personal triggers and relapse prevention as well as a daily home schedule, pre-scheduled therapy appointments and a list of area 12-Step meetings. To provide additional accountability and support, we work to connect you with a sponsor or alumni from our treatment center.
