The mission of Pacific Shores Recovery is to provide safe and sober transitional housing and sober living for persons that have experienced alcohol and/or drug addiction related problems.

Experience tells us that in order to maintain long-term sobriety we must develop an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle. We must develop new friendships and relationships with other alcohol and drug-free people at work, at home, and especially in our leisure hours. We must also replace our previous destructive behaviors with more healthy and productive alternatives.

One of the first steps in developing a drug-free lifestyle is to avoid those people who were directly involved in our former drinking or drug-using lifestyle.

Another important aspect of developing a drug-free lifestyle is to develop a structured daily schedule that we can consistently follow. Structure and organization in our life can be one of our best friends in early sobriety, while a chaotic and disorganized lifestyle may prove to be our worst enemy. It is important not to abandon this structured daily schedule or deviate from it on a regular basis, as it helps replace drug-seeking and using activities with the healthy alternatives that are needed.

While maintaining our sobriety should remain the number one priority in our lives, in order to develop a long-term drug-free lifestyle it is necessary to identify larger goals for our future. We may wish to return to school, change careers, or save toward financial goals. Identifying other goals for our lives and developing a plan to achieve these goals can play an important role in helping us develop and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.

Spirituality, as it relates to recovery, means gaining values in your life and having altruistic goals; reaching beyond yourself to find fulfillment and happiness. Spirituality is one of the most, if not the most, important factors in any successful recovery program and relapse prevention. It involves connecting to a power that extends beyond the concerns of daily living. Gaining spirituality in one's life may involve participating in activities that are "greater than yourself", such as doing service work for your support group, becoming more involved in your religious organization, doing community service or volunteering for charity work.

Replacing destructive behaviors with healthy activities, developing and moving towards new goals, and gaining spirituality in one's life may take some time to achieve. Though many of us may have similar issues, no two addicts or alcoholics are the same. Therefore, we all recover at our own rate of time. Pacific Shores Recovery allows you the time to build a strong foundation in recovery, however long it takes.

Our qualified staff is experienced in assisting addicts and alcoholics from all walks of life through the early stages recovery, so that they may develop and maintain a alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.
